Maggie Smith has died

I've been a fan since 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' which I saw in 1969. I remember who I was with at the time (Hi Karen - bet you hate the way Karen has come to mean whatever it means) and it was round about then I started to appreciate good acting. I think until then I assumed that good acting = remarkably pretty; so my list of good actors included the likes of Jane Fonda and Brigitte Bardot and Elizabeth Taylor.
